Petra Fornayová & Cluster Ensemble & Vysočina: Dance with Changing Parts

This year’s project with the residents of Vysočina features 50 performers from all generations. Led by Slovak director and choreographer Petra Fornayová and accompanied by eight musicians from the renowned musical group Cluster ensemble and the music of Philip Glass. 

After last year’s resounding success, the seniors from Vysočina return to scene of the action and this time they’re bringing dozens of new participants with them. Come experience this magnificent project and listen to the world renowned interdisciplinary Cluster Ensemble and their performance Music with Changing Parts. 

Dance with Changing Parts was the opening performance of the Opera Nova Festival 2018 at the National Theatre in Prague, for which it received a nomination for the 2018 Tatra Bank Foundation Art Award. Cluster ensemble released the recording of Music with Changing Partswith Philip Glass’s label Orange Mountain Music. 

This performance at KoresponDance is supported using public funding by the Slovak Arts Council.

Petra Fornayová (SK)

Petra Fornayová is a director, choreographer, performer, actor and publicist. She has created a number of original dance-theatre performances, collaborating with many choreographers, directors and musicians. Her original work has been presented in festivals in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and across Europe. She is the co-founder of A4 Theatre, co-founder and director of NuDance Fest and a  member of the editorial board of contemporary art magazine VLNA. In 2018, she was nominated for a Sun in the Net (Slnko v sieti) award for her role in Juraj Lehotský’s film Nina. 

Cluster ensemble (SK)

Cluster ensemble is an interdisciplinary artistic group founded in 2009 around Slovak musician Ivan Šiller. Now a fluctuating group of guest artists concentrated around the artistic duo of Šiller and Fero Király, Cluster ensemble performs regularly on domestic and international stages. The group primarily focuses on interpreting the works of contemporary composers and musical personalities of the twentieth century, alongside original and educational projects. At this point in its history, the group has collaborated with nearly 50 musicians, dancers, fine artists and other creatives from Europe and the USA. Their debut album Cluster ensemble Plays Philip Glass was released under Philip Glass’s label Orange Mountain Music.
