School is Dancing

Can movement help students learn fractions or vocabulary? Can geography be a subject for choreography? The School is Dancing project has many successful years to its credit, but this year was something a bit different, as  isolation in quarantine brought new stimuli to the project. During quarantine, pupils at ZŠ Na Radosti in Žďár nad Sázavou continued to study dance via web camera, through virtual meetings, which gave rise to the idea of further work with the camera. Under the leadership of choreographer Zdenka Brungot Svíteková and cinematographer Petra Bučková, the students continued to develop their work. Now you can see the results of their creativity, either live or as dance films screened as part of E.S.TA Projections.
