Cie Pieds Perchés: Šrámy/La Débattue

18:30

Stéphanie NDuhirahe follows on from last year’s performance at the Žďár nad Sázavou estate and continues to tell the story of her own family. Last year, she explored the history of the estate. This year, she will discover Nové město na Moravě and the genius loci of the Horácká Gallery.

A site-specific performance combining circus, physical theatre, video art and live music, the work deals with the intergenerational trauma caused by colonisation and asks how violence and pain are transmitted from generation to generation to become embodied memories. Stéphanie NDuhirahe researches the history of her own family and the visible and invisible wounds historical events might have left on her. In doing so, she initiates a process of healing and recovery through movement and storytelling.
