Jan Bárta, Aleš Čermák: Tohle všechno patří tobě - vol. II

The creators of performance project This All Belongs to You would tell you that mental disabilities don't exist. It’s just a question of perspective, of how you look at the world. Actors Jaroslava, Veronika, Martin and Josef offer one of the possible angles. So let yourself again be enriched a little.

The KoresponDance programme regularly features a diverse range of community projects. It wasn't possible to organise such a project this year, so the festival has invited creative duo Čermák and Bárta to present their remarkable performance This All Belongs to You - Vol. II (Tohle všechno patří tobě - vol. II). As the name implies, the production is indirectly linked to the first work, presented four years ago. What’s changed since then? Has anything changed at all? And if something really has changed, what does it look like? Is it a story? A fairytale? A book? Or maybe obesity?

We aren't interested in the answers, but in their diversity...

Aleš Čermák

Aleš Čermák is a conceptual artist. He studied at the Fine Art Academy in Prague and has repeatedly been a finalist for the Jindřich Chalupecký Award. The essential feature of his work to date could be most simply defined as the poetics of social forms. He has worked in this direction for a long time, in an interdisciplinary space between performance, literature and conceptual work with text. Alongside presenting his work in gallery installations, performance or videos, his activities have come closer to theatrical forms in recent years. Čermák’s work often touches on contemporary socio-political issues and people’s positions within them.

Jan Bárta

Jan Bárta is a performer, actor, director, mime, lecturer, drama therapist and one of the founding members of CreWcollective. He studied at the Duncan Centre conservatoire for two years and then entered the musical theatre department at Prague Conservatoire. In 2009 he graduated from the Mime Department of the Hogeschool voor de Kunsten in Amsterdam. He focuses on his own creative and performance work and collaborates with a number of established artists, ensembles and theatres (VerTeDance, Forman Brothers Theatres, Ponce - The Dance Venue, Komedie Theatre, etc.) and is regularly invited to Czech and international festivals.
