Workshop of traditional Ghana dances led by the Artistic Director of the Ghana Dance Ensemble. Immerse into the African rhythm and enjoy pure joy of movement.
The project is realized in cooperation with the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Akkra.
Benjamin Obido Ayettey, is currently Artistic Director of the Ghana Dance Ensemble and a Fellow at the Institute of the Institute of African Studies, University of Ghana, Legon. He is a Ghanaian and hails from Osu. He joined the Ghana Dance Ensemble in 1980. He obtained his Diploma in Theatre Arts ( Dance ) in 1991 at the School of Performing Arts, University of Ghana, Legon and furthered to do his masters at the Arizona State University where he obtained a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Dance (MFA) in 1997 and specialized in Choreography and Performing. He lectured at the School of Performing Arts from 1998 - 2008. He has performed with the company both locally and internationally. He has also done several choreographic works for the company and other companies such as institutions and organizations.
The program will take place even in unfavorable weather, in the case of rain, outdoor production will be moved in. Capacity of inner space of the castle is limited, we recommend arriving early enough. Outdoors are unlimited.
